Empang Koramil members help clean the houses of flood victims




Matanusra.com | Sumbawa - About eight houses were flooded due to high rainfall from noon to late afternoon in Bantulanteh Village, Tarano District, Sumbawa Regency, Sunday (12/15).

High rainfall in the upstream and clogged river channels in Banda Village and Bantulanteh Village caused rubbish water to rise to a height of 60 cm and submerged seven houses and one house belonging to the Batulanteh State Elementary School.

Knowing these conditions, members of Koramil 1607-02 / Empang together with members of the Empang Police Sector, Bantulanteh Village Head H. Syamsuddin and Tarano District Head M. Tahqik went down to monitor and collect data to help clean the victim’s house after the tide had subsided.

1607 / Sumbawa military district commander Lieutenant Colonel Inf Samsul Huda, SE. M.Sc., when contacted confirmed the incident. He and the relevant authorities went directly to the location to check and help residents whose houses were affected by the flood.

In addition, he and the Tarano District Head and members of the Sectoral Police coordinated with the District Public Works Agency to bring in heavy equipment to clean up trash that impedes river water flow.

“Alhamdulillah after sunset, the water has receded and the activities have returned to normal as usual,” said Dandim.
